Support Alexandra's Fight Against Breast Cancer

Donation protected
Hello, my name is John Foss. Recently my wife and best friend Alexandra was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer at age 27.

Alexandra is a loving wife and mother to two beautiful daughters Lillian (5 years old) and Sofia (2 years old). For the last 7 years she has assisted me in operating a Jet’s Pizza location where she serves her local community. When she isn’t working or taking care of her children you might find her building legos or baking the best banana bread cookies I’ve ever tasted. Alexandra, while being a bit shy, is the most loving, caring and hardworking person that I know. I often tell everyone who will listen how lucky I am that I’ve had the opportunity to marry such a special person. She is the entire world to me and our children. We could not imagine life without her.

Starting a year ago Alexandra started experiencing hip pain. This pain progressed for a while until it became unbearable. During this time she continued to work full time as well as caring for our two daughters. After physical therapy and other methods did not work, it was time for an MRI to investigate the cause of this pain. Little did we know that this MRI would change our lives forever. A lesion (tumor) was found on the left hip which was soon after biopsied. The result of this biopsy showed cancerous cells that were characteristic of breast cancer. This tumor had been eating away at her hip bone and causing her to unknowingly be at great risk of hip fracture. The next steps were a series of scans and tests to determine other areas of disease. A mass found in her breast also tested positive for cancer.

So far treatment has started with a surgery to implant a metal rod going from her hip to her knee. This was put in to stabilize her hip to prevent a fracture while other treatment is ongoing. This of course was an extremely painful procedure leaving Alexandra unable to drive or work. Due to this particular cancer being hormone fed, she will be getting injections to put her into an artificial menopause to stop the growth of tumors. This of course will come with its own side effects including a reduced chance of being able to mother any more children. Following this surgery is a long road ahead of radiation, chemotherapy (pills to start and possibly regular chemotherapy if pills are not effective), scans and appointments. There will also be another surgery to remove the mass in her breast.

As one could imagine, the cost of these surgeries and treatments are adding up quickly. We are setting up this fundraiser to try to offset the stress and financial burden associated with this process. We are not completely sure what to set the goal to because we are at the beginning of this journey and everything so far has been completely unexpected. If you would like to donate, it would mean so much to our little family. If you are not able to donate (we know times are tough) we completely understand and I thank you for just reading this and keeping Alexandra in your thoughts and prayers.

With the positive force and help of our family and community I know that Alexandra will make it through this and enrich our lives for many years to come!
