Lavender Avenue is a story about friendship, grief, and how one small decision can change the course of multiple lives forever.
At its heart, this film is about brotherhood — something we rarely see portrayed with emotional depth on screen. In a world where men are so often encouraged to suppress vulnerability, this film invites audiences into the unfiltered, complicated emotional world of two best friends. It’s about love, loyalty, and the pain of losing someone you thought would always be by your side.
The story follows Julien as he tries to process the sudden death of his best friend, Jackson, who dies in a car accident after a night out. What begins as a typical night between two mates — laughter, deep chats, takeaway food — ends in irreversible tragedy. But beyond the tragedy is a promise. A child who will grow up without ever knowing his father. And a man left behind to figure out what it means to live with guilt, grief, and the weight of everything left unsaid.
In 2023, nearly one‑fifth of all killed or seriously injured (KSI) casualties from car collisions in Great Britain involved drivers aged 17–24. Young men in this age group are about four times more likely to be killed or seriously injured than drivers over 25—especially in evening hours and when driving with peers. Even more sobering: 75% of road deaths in the UK were male, with nearly 24% of all fatalities aged between 17 and 29.
These statistics remind us that behind every number is a lost friendship, a shattered family, and memories that linger.
We don’t always recognise the consequences of our actions — until it’s too late.
This film is being created by three best friends — all filmmakers, storytellers, and collaborators with one shared dream: to tell stories that matter. Stories that reflect our realities. Lavender Avenue is our first project together, and it comes from a place of honesty, love, and lived experience.
We want this film to serve as both a tribute and a warning. A tribute to the kind of brotherhood that defines us — and a warning about how easily life can be taken away.
We’re raising funds to help complete production of Lavender Avenue and cover key costs such as equipment hire, transport, locations, post-production, and fair pay for our cast and crew. With your help, we can make a film that not only tells a powerful story, but also encourages people to think twice before making that “one little decision” that might seem harmless — until it isn’t.
Your support will mean everything to us. Every donation, every share, every message of encouragement helps us get one step closer to finishing this film and sharing it with the world.
Thank you for helping us tell this story — one that could save a life.
Note from the director:
Directing this short film is a really personal experience for me. It’s a chance to tell a story that means something, not just to me, but hopefully to others too. Being in the director’s seat means I get to shape the emotion, the tone, and the heart of the film — making sure every moment feels honest and true. It’s about more than just making something — it’s about saying something.
