Hello, my name is Diana Petras. I truly appreciate you taking a moment to read my story.

 In February 2024 I was diagnosed with stage 3 Her2+ breast cancer, a very aggressive and fast spreading cancer. I was devastated. I was low risk and there is no history of breast cancer in my family so I never saw it coming. I thought since I faithfully had scheduled mammograms I was covered but in it crept.

Prior to my diagnosis I was extremely active in working at clean living, eating clean, and exercising daily for optimum health. I also became a caregiver for seniors two years ago and have built up a wonderful group of clients whom I absolutely love. Unfortunately, I have not been able to work the past 9 months. A strong dual chemotherapy regimen along with a targeted therapy regimen have kept me at home as I work thru the numerous side effects as well as incurring a backlog of expenses. Post chemo 09/2024 I had surgery via lumpectomy w/ bilateral reduction. Unfortunately post surgery my pathology report showed residual effects so I had to undergo a second surgery 11/04 via a single mastectomy. Another hurdle I did not see coming however will aggressively persevere to get past this as well. To follow up I will be treated with 5 1/2 weeks of radiation therapy beginning 12/30 in addition to another targeted chemo therapy regimen (Kadcyla) for 9 months taking me to September 2025.

I am so looking forward to healing, resuming my life and spending quality time with my two children, granddaughter and seniors once again. Donations will be used to cover the ever growing out of pocket expenses which are not covered under my current insurance plan. Any amount that you and others you may know are willing to contribute is so greatly appreciated.
