Supplies for San Jorge Children's

Hi - we are the Flaherty Family from Philadelphia, PA and are raising money for supplies for our friends at San Jorge Children's Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  As you know, the staff at San Jorge saved our daughter's life last year and we would like to support them now.  PR is still in a devastated state and we will be shipping necessities directly to our contacts there.  We attempted to have a shipping container of medical supplies sent to the hospital, but the logistics have been slow and we don't want to wait any longer to help out.  Therefore, we are attempting to raise funds to send supplies and pay for the freight costs to our friends who are in desperate need of basics, and frankly, a little bit of cheer.  They will distribute among their colleagues, friends, and families in the PICU.  The doctors, nurses, and staff at San Jorge mean the world to us and we'd like to support them through this crisis.  So many of you have reached to us directly asking to do the same and we thank you.  Because I am impatient waiting for the shipping container and because UPS has opened up shipping directly to residences, we are going to purchase, package, and ship supplies (batteries, lights, cleaning supplies, food, water bottles, OTC medicine, etc.) with your generous donations.  We would like to do this next weekend, so your support by Friday, October 27 is most appreciated. We will be mailing boxes directly to three nurses and one doctor (residences) whom we have remained very close with.  Any excess funds raised will be donated directly to the San Jorge Children's Hospital PICU as well as two hot meal delivery services, Chefs for Puerto Rico and El Plato Caliente.
