Summer Intensive Wrestling Camp

Statement by Aloysius:

Hi, My name is Aloysius Fitzpatrick. I am a Freshman Deaf student with Model Secondary School for the Deaf. I have been a wrestler for a long time. I started wrestling when I was eight years old. I love wrestling with my whole heart. I have been an influencer among other Deaf wrestlers to join wrestling.

The reason why I set this page up is to fundraise. I am fundraising to receive support from the community who would be able to believe in my dream and ability. I want to improve my skills. I want to be a future champion representing my school, Model Secondary School for the Deaf, and myself. I haven't become a champion in a while. I did not have an opportunity due to the pandemic. For instance, Kendall did not have a wrestling program. This journey impacted my realization and skills. However, from my experience, in high school wrestling, it is challenging.

I have endured the frustration, emotion up and down, joy, persistence to commit to training myself, etc. The wrestler I have interacted with became my other family. Eventually, I hope the Deaf USA Wrestling Olympic would invite me to be a part of their team in the future.

My future goal is to enroll at Rochester Institute Technology University to major in mathematics and become a wrestler. When I achieve that goal, I would love to come back to Model Secondary School for the Deaf to contribute to the community by becoming their wrestling coach.

The intensive camp will maintain my focus and commitment to ensure I thrive to excellence as a wrestler. I hope you will be able to believe in me and contribute to supporting me to attend an intensive camp. 

GoFundMe Expense: The camp is for 10 days in June 2022 in Oklahoma at Oklahoma State University. The money will include the cost of the camp (meal, top-quality instruction, use of facilities, room and board, insurance, and tournament), round-trip flight, and the gofundme fee.
