Students Grow 2018
Donation protected
Greetings Friends: I teach High School Gifted Education in Topeka, Kansas. I take students on a trip every summer. Because there are few funds for these activities, we rely heavily on sponsors and fundraising.
Summer 2018 will be the 4th adventure for this Senior Class. All will be first generation students and will be attending college at KU, UMKC, Washburn, or Allen County.
Last summer we were able to visit the Twin Cities, The University of Minnesota, and Madeline Island on Lake Superior.
For summer 2018, our goal is to follow the Mississippi from St. Louis to St. Paul Minnesota and north to Superior National Forest
It is my hope that students who want to participate will be able to do so regardless of ability to pay. Ninety percent of our students qualify for free or reduced-cost lunch, and all will be the first in their family to attend college. Although we have school fundraisers, we need special sponsors like you to help make these experiences a reality. While students are required to participate in fundraising, I do not expect or ask for contributions from their parents.
Thank you for your generosity in helping these fine students broaden their horizons.
Please take a moment to watch the videos from past trips. They tell the story best.
Gratefully,
Peter Muraski
