Student Thesis Film: The Bicycle Man

Hello!

My name is Chan Cunningham and I am the writer, director, and co-producer of The Bicycle Man, an upcoming student thesis film from Cleveland State University. Here's the logline and some basic info.

The Bicycle Man

Genre: Dark Comedy / Sci-Fi

Projected Running Time: 25 minutes

After crossing paths with a terminally-ill mad scientist who's supposedly discovered the key to switching bodies, a suicidal call center agent must decide whether or not to shorten his life.

My production team and I are looking to raise funds for this film to properly bring this story to life. Our director of photography & co-creator Greg Pace created the concept and initial story during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. He was in love with the story but wasn't a fan of the script he wrote, so he passed it to me to overhaul and rewrite it as well as direct it.

Kafkaesque at its core and heavily influence by our time during quarantine and the emotions that came with it, we hope that our audience will feel seen and heard. We are incredibly proud of this world we have created and we cannot wait to share it with you.

BUDGET BREAKDOWN

Here is a general breakdown of how these funds would be used for the production:

Production Design - Production design is absolutely necessary for this film and we cannot let it fall short. We have roughly 25 minutes of story with 10 locations to decorate. This is the largest portion of our budget right next to craft services.

Craft Services - We are going to have roughly 10 days to shoot this film, and each day we will need to feed our talented crew. We want to make sure they're happy and healthy every single day making this the other largest portion of our budget.

Transportation - We want to make sure we can supply our crew with any money needed for transport throughout principal photography. We will also need to rent some U-Haul trucks so we can transport sets to locations.

Music - We want to have the funds needed to hire a talented composer to score the film. Audio is a lot of the time more important than video, so we need to make sure the score resonates with the story we have.

Those who donate $50 or more will receive a movie poster for the film. All donors will be credited and will receive a digital copy of the final cut of The Bicycle Man.
