Strength in Unity: Let's help Audrey's Fight against Cancer

On the 30th of May, Audrey Rathjen found a lump in her breast. On the 5th of June, she had a mammogram and was immediately sent for a biopsy which was performed on the 14th of June. On the 18th of June, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. To say her life was pulled from underneath her would be an understatement.

Never could anyone imagine facing a cancer diagnosis, unfortunately, one of our own is doing just that. The weight of this experience has felt like a bad dream she will never wake up from. But she’s determined to face this challenge head-on and never give up. She’s committed to fighting this with everything she has, but she is going to need our help.

She has her lumpectomy already scheduled. Treatment is extremely expensive, not to mention the possible amount of time she may have to take off work. Unfortunately, she is a one-income household and life will not stop for her even as she tries to navigate this life-changing event. The funds raised on this GoFundMe will help her keep on top of her bills while she endures treatment. She has a long hard road ahead.

Those of you who are lucky enough to know Audrey know how incredible she is. She is spontaneous, fun, kind-hearted, and always there to support the ones she loves while making those around her double over in laughter. She is the most amazing, beautiful, caring friend to literally everyone. She is the 50/50 queen, the raffle runner, the photo taker, the event supporter, the one who rallies for the dogs and the people of our community. We adore her and are hoping to help support her in any way we can because she deserves it.
