Stop Mass Shootings Using a New Innovation

Innocent people, people with futures, people with dreams, people with families all dead because no one has yet come up with a solution to a deadly epidemic that has plagued the world for the past 20 years...mass shootings. Well that is until now. I am a fourteen year old girl who was disappointed in humanity when she came up with a solution to this epidemic. Meet the Auto Lock Trigger System, a trigger system that locks the gun when it nears a router that is set up at different locations like schools, places of worship, stores... the possibilities are endless. In an overview a gun will not be able to shoot if it gets within a few yards of any place that has this router. Police will even be able to move these routers around, such as in concerts.
I have already received first place in Illinois in the 3M Young Scientist Challenge. I was top 23 young scientists in the nation with this project and was in a radio interview with my idea but I do not want to stop there. I want to bring this to the world and get the US government to require every gun in the United States to have the Auto Lock Trigger System. Not only do mass shooting affect the victims but also leave people scarred for life. Parents are scared to send their kids to school, students are scared to go to school, music enthusiasts are scared to go to concerts and even a quick trip to a local supermarket could turn deadly. People should not be worried about being killed in a location where they should be safe. Students should be worried about doing their best in school, parents worried about providing for their families not mass shootings. My family was in a hotel recently where a fire alarm went off and what was our worry? Not only of the fire but what if this is a mass shooting in disguise? Mass shootings need to stop and I want to take that first step. I need funds for my prototype to show in Congress along with money for the trip to Washington D.C. A software is needed and this will cost a minimum of 50,000 dollars alone. Any money that was raised and if it is left over will be donated to victims and families of victims of mass shootings. The US has experienced more mass shooting than any other country and almost all mass shooting where done with legally purchased weapons. It is unacceptable that there were 255 mass shooting in 217 days as of August 5, 2019. How can 30 people be dead in 13 hours in two separate shooting only recently? How can a mother die because she was shielding her child with her body. How can students be dead just because they went to school? How can 59% of Americans believe that mass shootings are the biggest threat to their safety? How can 26 people be shot in just 30 seconds? There are not words to describe how horrific this is. I think that it is our duty not just as Americans but as fellow human beings to solve these problems. When you have a seed you need to nurture it and help it grow just as I plan to do with this idea. The sooner we raise this money and the sooner I give this idea to congress the less people will be killed in mass shootings.
