Dear Friends, Family, and Compassionate Hearts,
We come together today with heavy hearts to share Steven Hansen's courageous journey in the face of an unforeseen challenge. After months of enduring debilitating headaches, Steven sought medical attention. After a CT and MRI in Lethbridge on January 8, 2024 Steven was called to go directly to the Foothills hospital in Calgary to be met with the devastating diagnosis of Brain Cancer. An astrocytoma, grade 4 tumor the size of a baseball was removed on January 16 .
Steve is currently undergoing intensive radiation and chemotherapy treatments in Calgary, Alberta. Steven's life has taken an unexpected turn.
The Unseen Struggles:
Steven's battle against Brain Cancer has not only affected his physical health but has also brought significant disruptions to his personal and professional life. The invasive and aggressive nature of his tumor forced Steven and his partner Mana to put an immediate pause to their whole lives to have surgery and begin the treatments. Both Steven and Mana find themselves on leave from work, uprooted from their home in Lethbridge. They now reside temporarily at a patient hostel near the hospital, ensuring proximity to the hospital for the unexpected complications, and his daily radiation and chemo treatments.
A Call for Compassion:
In the spirit of solidarity, Steven's Family and Friends are launching this campaign to rally support for him during this challenging time. We recognize that the road to recovery is arduous, with an estimated minimum hiatus of six months from work and regular life activities.
Your Impact:
Every contribution to this campaign will directly contribute to alleviating the immense stress on Steven and his partner. Funds raised will enable them to cover essential life costs, and ultimately provide Steven and Mana with the peace of mind crucial for his recovery journey.
