On Nov 22, 2017, our world lost someone special. Lt Steve (Stevie/Deet) Combs executed an emergency water landing, allowing 8 people to return to their families. His final act on this world was looking out for others. We would expect nothing less. 

Our family is in the process of establishing a 501 c(3) Memorial Fund to honor Steve. We will set up a scholarship fund in Berkshire County. One girl and one boy that are on a high school ski team will receive money to help further their education each year. A one time donation to the CU Boulder ROTC unit is planned as well as a one time donation to the Jiminy Peak Race team, where Steve spent most of his winters.

He shall never be forgotten. Our family will ensure that. Any donations will be transfered to the Memorial fund once it is established (eta: 4 weeks for paperwork). We also support donations to the Wingman Foundation who have been nothing but spectacular to our family. 

We will love and miss him forever, but we know his actions saved lives. As we all navigate this tragedy, will will try to live life as he did....skis pointed firmly down hill, going for it, and having faith it'll all work out.

"Be Brave. Be Amazing. Be Worthy. And every single time you get the chance? Stand up in front of people."

We will, for Stevie.
