Stellas journey; a family member lost
Don protégé
I adopted Stella from a kitten rescue in LA a year ago where she was supposed to be healthy and vaccinated. Instead, I received a cat covered in fleas and underlying issues. She is my absolute life.
Today, she walked over and collapsed in my lap and couldn't stand up. Her gums were white. I knew I had to take her in. The employees told me I had to pay $7k right now to save her. I would do anything for her, but the financial issues I already have are preventing me from giving her what she needs. I was able to have help, but I need to pay those bills back and still have a future plan for her. Anything helps; I just want to provide her with what she deserves. I hope people out there understand our situation. I will make sure everything goes to her care. If anything exceeds what I've asked, I will donate it to a similar cause. Thank you
I'm happy to send more receipts and photos I just need a little help
On May the 14th I took her to a vet to see what the next steps would be. They said she had liver failure and it was genetic. They gave me options one was steroids another an expensive surgery I was ready to take loans out for. From 9am to 1pm they called me saying she wasn't going to make it. When I got there they brought out her lifeless body and every part of me shattered.
I had just gone under so many surgeries for my own health and she was always so energetic till Friday evening. I applied to aspc volunteering right away leaving the vets because I have to know all this isn't my fault and I tried everything.
i wasn't financially prepared to pay out of pocket so much money and it's hard to put a price on a family member and best friend. If anyone can help, I promise to pay it back with my time. I loved her more than anything.
