One month update

Here is a snippet of what my cousin has written to update Zy’s community on his progress.

“I want to say thank you so much from the bottom of my heart, for all of my sons prayers, gifts, get well soon cards and drawings, videos, calls of support, kind words of positivity, to helping us financially, delivering food to us at the hospital to my children at home. It has been a very hard month (this upcoming Monday). I wanted to update that GOD is AMAZING. Zyan has passed the scary brain pressure, bleeding, swelling stages of recovery. He has been stable. He had horrible withdraws due to the sedative medications but is now so much more at ease with the new medication that was started this week. Seizures have been under control and so have his neurostorming episodes. Zyan will undergo surgery in the next few days for his feeding tube and have a tracheostomy. Please continue praying for his recovery and a successful surgery.“

One week update-

Out of respect for Jessica and her family, we are keeping updates limited. At this time, we can share that Zyan remains in the ICU and is being closely monitored. We want to thank everyone who has taken the time to donate, share, or Pray for Zyan and his family. It truly shows how a community can come together. We ask that everyone please continue to Pray, share, and/or donate.

Hi there my name is, Vanessa. I would like to share this story with everyone on behalf of my cousin and her family.

What began as a fun snow day during our first winter storm quickly turned into a terrifying and life-changing moment for my cousin and her family. Seven-year-old Zyan was sledding with his sister, cousins, aunt, and uncle at Ben Lomond Park—also known to many as Splash Down Water Park. On his final trip down the hill, Zyan collided with a tank of some sort, where a metal rod became lodged in the left side of his head. Thanks to the quick response of the paramedics, Zyan was airlifted out and underwent emergency surgery.

Thankfully the surgery was successful, now he is under close medical monitoring in the ICU. While we are grateful for his progress thus far, this has been an incredibly emotional and difficult time as the family remains focused on healing, recovery, and staying hopeful. We are hoping to raise funds to help ease the financial burden of medical bills, commuting, food, and any related expenses. So that Jessica and her family can focus on supporting Zyan on his journey to recovery- and back to his brave, playful, young self.

Por respeto a Jessica y su familia, mantendremos las actualizaciones al mínimo. En este momento, podemos informar que Zyan permanece en la UCI y está siendo monitoreado de cerca. Queremos agradecer a todos los que se han tomado el tiempo para donar, compartir o rezar por Zyan y su familia. Esto demuestra la fuerza de la comunidad cuando se une. Hola, mi nombre es Vanessa. Me gustaría compartir esta historia con todos en nombre de mi prima y su familia.

Lo que comenzó como un día de diversión de nieve durante nuestra primera tormenta invernal se convirtió rápidamente en un momento aterrador y cambió la vida de mi prima y su familia.

Zyan, de siete años, estaba deslizándose en trineo con su hermana, primos, tía y tío en el Parque de Ben Lomond, también conocido por muchos como Splash Down Water Park. En su último descenso por la colina, Zyan chocó con una especie de tanque, y una varilla de metal se le incrustó en el lado izquierdo de su cabeza. Gracias a la rápida respuesta de los paramédicos, Zyan fue trasladado en helicóptero y sometido a una cirugía de emergencia.

Afortunadamente, la cirugía fue un éxito y ahora se encuentra bajo estrecha vigilancia médica en la unidad de cuidados intensivos. Estamos muy agradecidos por su progreso hasta el momento, este ha sido un momento increíblemente emotivo y difícil, ya que la familia se mantiene enfocada en su recuperación y en mantener la esperanza.

Esperamos recaudar fondos para ayudar a aliviar la carga financiera de las facturas médicas, el transporte, la comida y cualquier otro gasto relacionado. De esta manera, mi prima y su familia podrán concentrarse en apoyar a Zyan en su camino hacia la recuperación y en que vuelva a ser el niño valiente y juguetón que es.
