January this year, 2024 Stephen Hunt (aka Shunt, Shunter or Steve) our dear friend and colleague was diagnosed with stage 4 Gastrointestinal Cancer. As you can imagine this has changed the course of Steve and his family’s life.

Although originally from Perth, Western Australia, the Hunt family have been living overseas for the last six years for Steve’s work. Most recently in Jan 2023 Steve and his family left the UK and headed for Houston Texas where they’ve been living for the last 12 months.

Steve and Lesley have made the decision to commence chemotherapy treatment here in Houston at the Number 1 cancer clinic in the US and the world (MD Anderson). Here in Houston, he will commence an aggressive 8-week program where they will closely monitor to determine if the cancer is responding to treatment or not. If the treatment does not work the Hunt family will return to Perth WA, if there is progress in his treatment they’ll continue to stay in Houston and have access to more advanced treatment options.

Since this news there's been a flood of friends, colleagues and family from around the world who know the Hunt family, that want to contribute in some way.
