At just 36 years old Mikayla’s life was turned upside down when she was suddenly diagnosed with bilateral carotid artery dissections leading to two mini strokes. What began as an ordinary day quickly became a medical emergency that no one saw coming. In an instant, everything changed.

Mikayla is a devoted mother, partner, and the kind of person who always shows up for others. Now, she has been forced to step away from work on medical leave while she focuses on healing, therapy, and recovery. While her body fights to regain strength, the financial pressure on her and her family continues to grow.

Being off of work has created an urgent financial crisis. Bills don’t stop. Rent, utilities, groceries, medical bills, and medication costs are piling up fast. The stress of wondering how to provide for her family during this time is overwhelming — and it’s the last thing Mikayla should have to carry while recovering from a stroke.
