Help John Joyce’s Family Through an Unexpected Loss
Our Special Forces family lost a good man far too soon. John S. Joyce passed away suddenly at the age of 62, leaving behind his wife, Ozielly “Ozzy” Joyce, his family, and countless friends who are still trying to comprehend the loss.
Many in the Special Forces Association and Special Operations Association knew John through his company, Excalibur, Inc. For years, John was a familiar face at SOAR, SFACON, and other gatherings, often surrounded by tables filled with shirts, challenge coins, and other items he had created for the Special Operations community.
But John was much more than a businessman.
He was a friend, a mentor, and one of those people who was always willing to help someone else. He gave his time, advice, encouragement, and assistance freely, usually expecting nothing in return.
Now his family needs a little help getting through the weeks ahead.
John’s death was completely unexpected. Along with the grief of losing him, they are now suddenly facing funeral expenses, household bills, and the many immediate costs that arise while John’s estate, VA survivor benefits, and other financial matters are being settled.
This is about giving John’s family some breathing room during an extraordinarily difficult transition. Estate matters and survivor benefits take time, but mortgages, utilities, groceries, funeral expenses, and everyday bills do not stop while paperwork is being processed.
If John ever helped you, made something special for your unit or organization, offered you advice, shared a laugh with you at a reunion, or simply treated you like a friend, this is an opportunity to return a little of the kindness he gave so freely throughout his life.
Any contribution, large or small, will help the family meet immediate funeral and living expenses while they work through John’s estate and determine the survivor benefits available.
If you are unable to contribute financially, sharing this fundraiser with others who knew John would also mean a great deal.
John spent years supporting the Special Forces & Special Operations community.
Now we have an opportunity to stand beside his family.
Thank you for helping us take care of one of our own.
