Support WAISN Workers as We Organize!

We are workers at the Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network (WAISN), organizing an independent staff union to build a workplace rooted in dignity, transparency, accountability, and collective power.

Many of us, located all across the state, are ourselves immigrants, refugees, or directly impacted members of the communities we organize alongside. We are the people who answer the Hotline calls, coordinate Rapid Response, create resources, carry the policy work that results in legislative wins for immigrants, coordinate the Fair Fight Bond Fund, and much more. We came to this work because we believe deeply in immigrant justice, mutual aid, and the power of communities to stand together in difficult moments. We believe those same values must extend to the workers doing this work every day.

Recent financial and organizational instability at WAISN has left workers facing significant uncertainty, including the loss of jobs and income. At the same time, we are coming together to protect one another and ensure workers have a meaningful voice in the decisions that affect our livelihoods and the future of the organization.

We created this Worker Solidarity Fund to help workers navigate this moment while we organize.

Funds will help support:
  • Workers experiencing layoffs, lost income, or financial hardship
  • Emergency and essential expenses during this transition
  • Costs associated with independently organizing and sustaining our union effort

For workers already navigating the realities faced by immigrant and refugee communities, sudden employment instability can have consequences far beyond the workplace. This fund is one way we are practicing the solidarity and collective care that have always been central to our work.

We recognize that recent financial and organizational challenges have affected trust in WAISN. Rebuilding that trust starts with transparency, openness, and listening to community. As workers, we want to move through this moment with care and honesty while sharing a commitment to learning from what has happened. Together, we can strengthen WAISN for the communities who rely on it.

If you are able, please donate. Any amount makes a difference.

If you cannot contribute financially, sharing this fundraiser, amplifying our union, and publicly standing with WAISN workers are meaningful ways to support us.

We are organizing because we believe workers deserve safety, dignity, accountability, and a real voice in the decisions that affect us.

Our work is rooted in solidarity. Our union is too.
