Stand With Thomas: A Young Dad’s Fight Against Colon Cancer

Hi,

We never thought we would have to make a page like this, but such is life.

Thomas Morien was diagnosed with colon cancer at 35 years old. With no familial history, this came as an utter shock to everyone around him. Thomas is a loving father, husband, son and dentist. While this news is devastating, we remain hopeful in spirit that he will get through this.

Due to this condition, he will have to stop work immediately and begin treatment. We are asking friends and family for any support, in the form of prayers, good vibes, monetary, etc. Everything is greatly appreciated.

And please, let this story be a PSA. Get your colonoscopy and don’t ignore any symptoms, regardless of how seemingly insignificant.

Update: Holy smokes! Tom and I are beyond grateful for all of your support. Thank you so incredibly much to everyone!!!! God bless all of you.

We will continue to update with treatment and new details as they emerge. Thank you for the amazing support.

Update 2: We have good news! There was some concern about metastasis to the liver. Tom had an MRI scan done and thankfully, there are NO suspicious lesions!!! Thank God! 

Right now, surgery is scheduled for Thursday. They will stage the cancer from I-III based on the pathology findings from the surgery.

Update 3: Tom is out of surgery and is hanging in there. His pain was severe at first, but the nurses and doctors have been able to get things under control. He is expected to be at the hospital for the next few days. 

Update 4: Tom is recovering from surgery. He needed an iron transfusion due to severe anemia from the cancer. He has received that now and is on the continued path of healing! God is good!
