This morning, Riley Staack, a longtime Starbucks partner at the Hampton and Wise store as well as a SBWU bargaining delegate for Saint Louis, was fired for a minor tardy that took place in December. We all know that’s not the real reason she was fired. Riley has been a leader in the SBWU campaign in Saint Louis since her store organized in 2022, and Hampton and Wise was the first store to unanimously vote yes in Missouri! This is a testament to her leadership and to the bond she has with her team and the customers they serve. Starbucks is scared of powerful organizers like Riley, and today’s firing makes that clear. This company is willing to fire hardworking leaders in order to push their anti union agenda, leaving workers and their families without income in the blink of an eye. While we fight for Riley’s reinstatement, this fund will help her & her family with groceries, rent & utilities, and help her support her wife who has recently had medical issues and is currently on a medical leave.
