Help Bring Renatho Casseus Home and Support His Family

We are asking for your help during one of the most difficult and frightening moments this family has ever faced.

Renatho Casseus is a student at San Diego City College, a young man with tremendous potential, a bright future, and a loving family who has worked incredibly hard to help him build a better life.

Renatho was on his way to school to attend class when his vehicle was reportedly cut off by ICE agents near San Diego City College. Several agents approached the vehicle.

What followed has left his family devastated and desperately searching for answers, legal assistance, and resources.

Renatho is currently being held at the Otay Mesa Detention Center. He is frightened and uncertain about what will happen next, especially without proper legal representation and support.

Renatho is not simply a name or a case number. He is a son, a brother, a friend, a student, and a young man who deserves the opportunity to continue his education and pursue his dreams.

A Family Who Has Sacrificed Everything

Renatho's parents came to the United States from Haiti determined to give their children opportunities they themselves did not have. They are hardworking parents who have spent years sacrificing, working, and doing everything they could to provide their three sons with a better and safer future.

They worked tirelessly to help Renatho establish himself, enroll in college, and pursue his education. Like so many parents, they dreamed of seeing their children succeed and build a future filled with opportunities.

Now, their family is facing an unimaginable crisis.

Because of the uncertainty surrounding their immigration situation and the expiration of Temporary Protected Status (TPS), the family is facing an extremely difficult and vulnerable time. Their days are now consumed with trying to find legal help, locate resources, arrange transportation, and pursue every possible avenue to help their son and bring him home.

The Family Needs Urgent Support

The financial burden of this situation is overwhelming. The family is struggling to maintain their normal lives while focusing on Renatho's case and trying to secure the legal representation he needs.

Immigration attorneys, legal proceedings, transportation to appointments and facilities, court-related expenses, and other necessary costs can quickly become overwhelming for a family already under tremendous emotional and financial stress.

A Mother and Father in Deep Pain

Renatho's mother is struggling deeply with the emotional pain of what is happening to her son. She cries every day and is having difficulty even speaking about the situation without becoming overwhelmed. As a mother, the uncertainty surrounding her son's future has been heartbreaking.

His father, who already lives with high blood pressure, is also under tremendous stress as the family tries to navigate this frightening and unfamiliar process.

Renatho's siblings are deeply affected as well. They are struggling to process what has happened to their brother and the reality that he is currently away from home and in detention.

No parent should have to experience the fear and uncertainty of not knowing when their child will come home.
