Dan DiClemente, a long-time union leader and community activist from Rochester, New York, has been battling cancer since January of 2020.

What started in his kidney has spread to his brain. Dan is a true fighter with a strong will to live, and he’s been living with, and getting treatment for, the relentless cancer since that initial diagnosis over four years ago.

Despite his excellent medical coverage, which was negotiated by his union, Dan’s family is facing significant out of pocket costs. A recent hospital stay at the Cleveland clinic left his family with a $4,000 hotel bill. In the next few days, his family is arranging medical transport to move him closer to his home in Rochester, but insurance won’t cover that expense, and that move will cost them $7,500.

Despite comprehensive health coverage, there are still too many expenses that are not covered by insurance.

Help us raise money to defray some of these steep costs. We are looking to raise $15,000 to help Dan and his family. Dan has helped so many people over the years, from the union members that he represents to everyone who lives and works in Rochester, New York, a community that he has dedicated his career to serving.
