For the past 10+ years, I’ve had the privilege of calling Marc McBrien not only my partner, but one of my best friends. Marc has spent his life serving others. Before joining the Boston Police Department, he served our country in the United States Army, and then went on to become a highly decorated Boston Police Officer, dedicating his career to protecting the people of Boston beside his fellow officers.
Now Marc is facing the fight of his life. This summer, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. He has already completed his first round of treatment, and there is still a long road ahead. Through it all, his wife Rachel, and 2 children are standing beside him, along with family, friends, and his brothers and sisters throughout the Boston Police Department.
The months ahead will bring continued treatment, medical appointments, unexpected expenses, and the many challenges that come with a diagnosis no family should have to face alone. This fundraiser is to help ease some of that burden so Marc and his family can focus on his treatment, his recovery, and most importantly family time together.
Any donation, no matter the amount, will make a difference. If you’re not able to give, sharing Markie’s story would mean just as much. Thank you!
