My 12 year old nephew Bryson Miell is full of life, loves to smile and makes people laugh. He has an amazing personality with a BIG heart! He enjoys playing sports and video games but loves to be outdoors and being around friends. Bryson loves his older twin brothers Devin and Aiden so much that he says they are triplets.
A few months ago Bryson was at one of his check ups, they realized his blood pressure was elevated. After running several tests including an MRI, the results showed several tumors above his right Adrenal gland. Bryson was immediately admitted on February 11th into the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.
After being admitted, several more tests were performed and Bryson has been diagnosed with Paraganglioma. Paraganglioma is a rare tumor that produces adrenaline hormones which is the flight or fight hormone. This is what caused his high blood pressure. While being in the hospital for 9 days, they were finally able to get his blood pressure under control enough to where they are able to schedule surgery to remove the tumors. As of right now we don't know if it's Malignant or Benign until the tumors are removed and sent to pathology. Surgery is scheduled for March 4th.
With this being said my sister Amber and brother in law Dean have been by Bryson's side through it all like any parent would do. This involves missing everyday of work, Traveling 38 miles one way to the hospital and sleepless night in a hospital chair making sure Bryson knows he's not alone.
The funds raised will be used for Medical bills, Food, Travel and time missed from work. Your support is greatly appreciated. Please continue to pray for Bryson and my family that God will provide for them in many ways and that the surgery will be a success with a good outcome.
