Stage 4 Colon Cancer: Dana Gianfrancesco's Fight

Donation protected
My dream is to be here in 5, 7 and 10 years from now.: 1st diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer with metastasize to the Liver October 2018. I have under gone 9 months of chemotherapy some harder than the others. I am getting surgery to have 1 foot of my colon removed, gallbladder removed and an HAI pump implanted to feed chemotherapy directly to the cancer tumors in the liver in addition to the chemotherapy I get through my port in my chest and will be out of work for a while.  As a mother, wife and super hard worker this is extremely hard on me and my family. Sometimes chemo brain which is real sets in and the struggle to say things becomes overwhelming.  There are side effects to the drugs which have altered life. I can no longer go for long walks or handle the heat. there are other physical side effects also. I am super grateful that I am still here. I was misdiagnosed for 18 month before I demanded a colonoscopy because I knew something was wrong. I finally got it and within 15 minutes my GI doctor knew I was stage 4 Colon Cancer. Who knows if it was caught 18 months earlier maybe it wouldn't be a life sentence.   The life expectancy of Stage 4 is 2.5-5 yrs I am fighting for more.  I am begging for more. My salary covers some pretty important things to my family and without working overtime we just cant make it. I know that the surgery will be down time without working weeks or more and then I start a super aggressive chemotherapy regime. I am scared for all that lies ahead. Loosing my hair, nausea, sensitivity to cold and eating, constipation and then diarrhea,  the skin in my legs hurts often from 1 of the drugs. Imagine the soles of your feet feeling like there are blisters on them I have that daily.   With all the medical bills and trying to eat healthy is expensive. The toll the drugs take on my mind and body is forever. I have had a port implanted in my chest to get the medicine because through my veins would destroy them. I had to have a stent placed surgically in my colon to keep it open. When I was diagnosed my colon was 90% blocked.  During all of this my son needed a 2 part knee surgery which has cost even more than expected Surgery 1 July 1st and the 2nd one was July 31st.   My 2 kids had to go to county college to keep the cost down. (and even that is too much) The gift you give today will help ease the burden I hold and cry about almost daily.  Thank you for any help you can give. Even $1 helps when added together.  I have donated on here and can't believe I am now here asking for help. Cancer brings you to your knees. It teaches you who is there for you and who is not. It teaches humility, compassion and grit to wake daily and keep going. It teaches you to cry is ok.
