St Thomas Lift Repair Appeal

Hi, my name is Tom and I am the Priest at St Thomas Anglican Church, High Street, Toowong.

Our Parish provides many service to the members of the wider community in the inner west of Brisbane. Many of our clients are aged, disabled or are young families with prams. The lift connecting our car park with our Parish Centre need to be refitted at a cost of over $115,000. We are hoping for funding for the first stage of this work which will cost $50,000. We have applied for a Government Grant to cover $20,000 of the first stage of this project.

Members of the general public use the lift to attend a range of events that include: Concerts; Dinners; Discussin Groups; High Teas; Book Shop and October Book Fest; Christmas Carols; Easter Egg Hunts; Community Hymn Singing as well as Baptism, Wedding and Funerals.

Our Community Support Ministry includes: Food Pantry; Support for families with young children; Street Book Exchange; Winter Blanket Drive and Teddy Bears for the Childrens Hospital. We also support the work of Rotary, the Lions Club and the Mission to Seafearers.
