St. Hubert's Trail Boardwalk: Will Dieterich Eagle Project

Hello, my name is William Dieterich. I am a rising senior at Millburn High School and a Life Scout in Troop 15, Short Hills.

For my Boy Scouts Eagle Project, I’m constructing a boardwalk at the St. Hubert’s Animal Shelter in Madison, NJ to improve a vital dog-walking trail that often becomes muddy and flooded. This trail is essential for staff and volunteers who care for the dogs, especially during winter and heavy rains. A proper boardwalk will provide safer, more reliable access and make a lasting difference for the center.

My plan is to build and install a wooden boardwalk over a key section of the trail that frequently floods and becomes muddy. The project will consist of 3 connected platforms totaling 25 feet in length. This improvement will offer greater safety and convenience for the dedicated staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to care for the homeless pets at St. Hubert’s. Any extra unused funds will be donated towards St. Hubert's for animal food and necessities.
