Michael's Kidney Transplant Fund

I’m writing this on behalf of my husband, Michael Proctor. Michael was born and raised in Monroe County, Georgia  He was diagnosed several years ago with end state renal disease (kidney failure). Since his diagnosis in 2013 he has been on dialysis. At first, he was on home dialysis, but complications ended that. He now goes for treatment three days per week at 4:30 am for approximately four hours a day. In spite of the dialysis, he continues to work each day. His doctor recommended for him to apply for disability four years ago but Michael refused too. Instead, he chose to work as long as he possibly could. This is beginning to have an impact on him. He stays tired and doesn’t have much of an appetite. The loss of an appetite has resulted in him losing approximately 25 pounds within the past few months. We have started the process for him to apply for disability. In March of 2017 he was evaluated in Augusta for a kidney transplant. He is a good candidate for the transplant, but one major issue is preventing him from being placed on the transplant list – money. For him to be on the list, we must show proof of $10,000.00 in savings. His Medicare will not cover all costs associated with the transplant. I want my husband to live as normal of a life as possible. My plea to you is for any donation that you feel in your heart you can give. Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated.
