Surgery after weight loss
Spende geschützt
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my page. I originally started this two years ago, with a push from my daughter, but due to poor health and an ankle surgery to pin and plate a break, I wasn’t able to pursue this surgery until now.
A little about me: my name is Tania. I was fortunate to receive weight loss surgery through the NHS, and to date, I've lost an incredible 16 stone—more than half my original body weight! However, this has left me with a significant amount of excess skin, which affects my daily life, both emotionally and physically. I’ve been advised I’ll need 2 to 3 surgeries to remove it, as doing it all at once would be too dangerous. The first surgery alone will cost £9,800.
As much as I’d love to have it done in the UK, I simply can't afford it. Unfortunately, the NHS has refused funding, labeling it as cosmetic surgery, despite an NHS surgeon assessing me and stating I was an 'extreme case.' For the first surgery, I will need a 360 FDL with arm lift, I will then need a breast lift and thigh lift along with an armpit lift.
This surgery is essential for me to live a more normal life. I suffer from low self-esteem, low self-worth, and depression, which I am actively working on. Though I try hard to hide these struggles, my family and close friends see them. Socially, I mask it with alcohol, but I continue to fight daily to maintain my weight, which is extremely challenging given how I feel about myself and my image. In the past, food was always my comfort.
I’m currently working three jobs and I am doing everything I can to reach my goal, but any help, no matter how small, will mean the world to me.
Thank you so much for reading this far and considering donating. I truly understand that with the cost of living crisis, many may not be able to contribute, which makes any donation, no matter the size, even more meaningful.
A huge thank you to everyone who has already donated. ❤️
