Speer Academy College Experience

At ITW David Speer Academy, we want to provide students with opportunities that will promote persistence in difficult college majors and lead to robust careers in STEM fields.  We believe that participating in a unique STEM experience at a college during the summer of our students’ sophomore to junior year will lead to higher achievement in subsequent high school years and beyond.  We want 100% of our current sophomores to have this experience which will cost over $400,000 in tuition  for summer programs and travel.  With your help, we can provide our children with the summer of a lifetime.  Program deadlines and payment to colleges are due the upcoming spring, so with funding now, we can achieve our goal.  

Pre-college summer programs are offered by many different colleges and universities throughout the country.  They are unbelievable experiences for high school students as they provide a taste of college living and illuminate a sense of possibility for what they can achieve in the future.   The first year of the program we sent 20 of our students to Purdue, and they all had a life changing experience. Last year we sent over 180 sophomores on a college campus all over the country. This year our goal is to send all 400+ sophomores on a college campus!

We can't do this without your donation.  It will help over 400 students have a college experience all around the country. We have many first generation students attending our school and this will truly be a once in a lifetime opprtunity for them!
