We are raising funds to repair and restore vital school greenhouses in two incredibly deserving but severely under-resourced schools in one of the poorest and most isolated regions of Bolivia.

The Problem: A Fight Against the Cold and Hunger

The area, often described as a cold desert, struggles with a profound lack of fresh food variety. The harsh climate makes local cultivation nearly impossible, and the great distance and poor road conditions make bringing in fresh produce from the city expensive and unreliable.

A brilliant initiative was started to build greenhouses from local adobe bricks and plastic sheeting to provide a solution. However, due to the schools' extremely limited budgets and the high cost of transporting and purchasing the necessary plastic roof sheets and other materials from far-off cities, these greenhouses have fallen into disrepair.

Your donation will do two critical things:

Nourishment: For many children, the food grown in these greenhouses and served at school lunch is their main, most nutritious meal of the day. Many students arrive at school without having eaten breakfast, and some walk one to two hours to get there. Fixing these greenhouses is essential to ensuring these children don't go hungry.

Education: The working greenhouses are a fundamental part of the children's practical education, teaching them sustainable agricultural techniques that can help their communities adapt to the difficult climate.
