Soundproof The Space

For almost 6 years now The Space has been providing a very unique venue for performing artists of all kinds, without charge to the community or attendees. Music of all genres, comedy, drama, art, film, multimedia, and hard-to-describe-weird-stuff have all graced The Space. Some of these things can be quite loud - but even a normal conversation can be heard just on the other side of The Space's back wall. We never knew this before because we never had a neighbor that really used the adjacent space , or else maybe he was hearing impaired.

Anyway, we have new neighbors now - and they're honestly great. They work hard and don't complain and are a lot of fun - AND they deserve some respect. Good walls make good neighbors, right? So, we've worked out a plan to cover the adjoining walls with acoustic tile that will allow The Space to continue to function as an artistic venue for the community on a regular basis without disrupting others in the building. This treatment will also have a very positive affect on the acoustics inside the room.

We hope all of you who have enjoyed The Space over the years and would like to see it continue as it has been, will consider contributing to this project. It's not so much money as we had feared but we can't shoulder it entirely by ourselves. We need and appreciate your help!!!

Additionally, we have been generously lent - indefinitely - a very very VERY high-end soundsystem. That, combined with the new acoustic tiles will make The Space by far one of the best sounding venues in the city!
