Sound Mandala: Immersive Audio Experience

Kansas City is about to meet the world — and the world deserves something extraordinary.

In 2026, millions of visitors will descend on Kansas City for the Men's FIFA World Cup. While the city prepares its stadiums, hotels, and restaurants, the Sound Mandala Institute is preparing something no visitor will find anywhere else on earth: a groundbreaking immersive sound experience that doesn't just fill a room — it moves through you.

The Sound Mandala is not a concert. It's not a show. It's a journey.

Developed right here in Kansas City and battle-tested at the 2024 Kansas City Fringe Festival — where audiences responded with genuine awe — the Sound Mandala surrounds listeners inside a purpose-built octagon fitted with 100 loudspeakers. Sound becomes a living presence, flowing, spiraling, and whispering through space in ways that no home stereo, no car, and no conventional venue can replicate. Audiences describe the experience as intensely personal, deeply emotional, and utterly unlike anything they've encountered before.

Think of it the way Tibetan monks approach a sand mandala — each grain placed with intention, each sound sculpted with precision — except here, the art form lives in the air around you.

Here's where we are — and where we need your help.

We have secured an agreement to use the Unicorn Theatre's Black Box space, and we are ready to build. Your support will fund the construction of the octagon structure, 100 professional loudspeakers, computer interfaces and cabling, acoustic treatment, video monitors, mix engineers, construction materials, and skilled carpenters — everything required to bring this vision to life at world-class scale.

Two original 50-minute performance art programs will be created specifically for World Cup visitors, giving Kansas City a cultural landmark as memorable as the matches themselves.

This is a rare moment.

Kansas City has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to present itself not just as a sports destination, but as a global center of artistic innovation. The Sound Mandala Institute — a registered nonprofit — is positioned to make that statement. Every dollar you contribute is tax-deductible and goes directly toward building something that will leave an international audience speechless.

We need to move now to secure the space and complete construction before the World Cup begins. Your investment today ensures this experience exists tomorrow.

If you haven't yet felt what the Sound Mandala can do, we invite you to visit our laboratory for a personal demonstration. Come feel it for yourself — then help us share it with the world.

The Sound Mandala Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
