Help train Somaliland's new generation of Doctors.
My Name is Dr. Liam Carroll and I am a Medical Doctor based in Brisbane Australia. I am going to Somaliland to help train these future Doctors.
I need your help.
Somaliland is an unrecognised Country in the horn of Africa which is still recovering from a savage civil war.
Tens of thousands of people have been slaughtered.
There are scarcely 180 doctors in the whole country serving 3.5 Million people .
1 in 5 children Will die before their 5th Birthday !!
Somaliland has only 2 Psychiatrists !
Health services are very limited and often non existent.
ADFA ( Australian Doctors for Africa ) provide Volunteer Doctors to train the next generation of Doctors in Hargeisa Medical School to help their fellow citizens.
Resources are sadly lacking and simple tools that are routine in Australia such as Stethoscopes , Blood Pressure Machines , Thermometers ...are in short supply.
I am one of the Doctors travelling to Hargeisa next year to help train these brave people stand on their own two feet.
We are desperate to get funding so that we can buy simple tools to help these poor people have a fighting chance and lift them from a dire future.
Funds will be spent on vital and necessary items to provide the next generation of Doctors ( now final year Medical students ) with the most basic tools to provide basic health care.
Please , please help me, help them.
Thanks
Dr Liam Carroll
