Soccer Bees - Footballathon 25th May 2025

As five years slip by since our first ever Soccerbees training session on the Grummell Park with borrowed second and third hand kit. It is incredible to think how far we have all come in such a short space of time. We now have over 70 boys and girl’s names on our register between the ages of 4 and 9, all enjoying themselves, playing a good standard of football with a majority competing regularly at a high level.

Our affiliation with Lochmaben Football Club continues to grow, enabling us to provide the very best facilities for child football development. However, first and foremost it is our continued quest to offer free and accessible football tuition to the young children of Lochmaben and the surrounding towns and villages that fills us with pride and sets us apart from others. This would simply not have been possible without the support and generosity of local businesses and the parents and guardians of all our players. We will be forever thankful for all the help received.

To enable us to continue on this path, it gives us pleasure in announcing something different this year with our ‘Footballathon 2025’ and would be extremely grateful to you and your family for any support you could offer the children. Your Child is of course invited to take part in the ‘Footballathon’ at Lochmaben’s pitch on Sunday 25th May 2025, where they will join their group of fellow Soccerbees and coaches to work together to keep the footballs moving for an 8-hour stint non-stop. Each age group will be given a time slot in which it will be there responsibility to keep the footballs rolling before the entire club comes together at 4pm for the last hour and to complete the challenge.

This is of course no mean feat, and we hope that our mission will help raise much needed funds for new equipment, tournament entry fees and hire of winter facilities necessary to continue the development of all children attending. Parents and guardians are of course welcome to take part, and we would be delighted to have as many participants and their families as possible to join us for the last hour and help celebrate the achievement.
