Smokey’s Thoracic Limb Surgery

Hi! I’m Lainya and earlier this year I rescued Smokey from the Halfway Dog House where he had been found as a stray.

Since coming home, Smokey has received lots of care at the vets including medicated skin shampoo and a tail amputation and I’m pleased to say he is showing signs of improvement. However, he recently had an X Ray for a leg injury where it was discovered he had a previous fracture in his front leg that wasn’t treated correctly - and he now needs corrective surgery through referral to a specialist team, due to the operation requiring more skill than our regular veterinary practice.

The estimated bill is £4,000. Thankfully he is covered on insurance, but they will only cover the first £3,000 and I can’t schedule in the surgery until I can front the remaining £1,000, which I’m currently unable to do with paying for his tail amputation with no help from the insurance to cover on that injury. I am working my hardest to provide everything I can for Smokey, but I’ve encountered more health concerns than anticipated that the rescue also were not aware of, so I am reaching out for help.
