Dexter Kelly Skunk Enclosure Eagle Project
Tax deductible
Hello!
My name is Dexter Kelly and I am asking for help to raise funds to build an animal enclosure for my Eagle Scout project. This 12’ x 12’ x 8’ enclosure will benefit Napa Wildlife Rescue by providing a safe habitat for orphaned skunks during the spring season.
Although skunks are sometimes seen as a nuisance, they are actually beneficial to farmers, gardeners, and landowners because they feed on a large number of agricultural and garden pests. Two species of skunk are found in this part of California, the spotted skunk (Spilogale gracilis) and the striped skunk (Mephitis mephitis), which is the species most commonly found around homes.
In the future the enclosure may also be used to house other mammals, like raccoons or foxes. ALL donations will help fund the costs of lumber and other necessary materials to complete the project. I am looking for both material and/or cash donations in order to complete this project.
As you may know, The Eagle Scout Service Project, is the opportunity for a Scout to demonstrate leadership of others while performing a project for the benefit of his community. This is the culmination of my Scout leadership training. The project must benefit an organization other than the B.S.A., and it cannot be performed for an individual or a business or be commercial in nature. Completing an Eagle Project is a requirement in order for me to attain the Eagle Scout rank.
Wildlife Rescue Center of Napa County (Napa Wildlife Rescue) supports and advocates for wildlife through rehabilitation, education, community outreach, and partnerships in order to promote sustainable and healthy ecosystems in Napa County for the present and future generations.
