Shawn Reaves Memorial Bench in Coronado

Shawn Reaves was the light of everyone's life. Where she was, there was joy and love and an open heart. I know everyone reading this misses her terribly.
Shortly after Shawn's passing in 2017, I inquired at the Coronado Shores about having a memorial bench dedicated to Shawn. As you all know, Coronado was the happy place (and has continued to be!) for the Reaves family for many summers. At that time, the Shores was embarking on a massive landscape re-design, which was just recently completed (it looks great). With that redesign came two new benches available for the memorial project. The building manager contacted me recently to see if I was still interested, and after a quick check-in with a group of about ten friends, I decided to proceed. After talking with this same group about pooling resources to sponsor the bench, we thought we would open the opportunity up to everyone who loved her.
The bench will cost $5,000 (bench, concrete pad installation, bronze plaque, and annual maintenance in perpetuity). It looks over a waterfall with a lovely natural boulder setting. It is a pretty and peaceful spot. The plaque will read as follows:
"No day shall erase you from the memory of time." — Virgil followed by: In memory of Shawn Reaves, beloved by her family and innumerable friends, her smile as bright as the stars and her love as deep as the ocean, and whose goodness continues to be an example for all of us.
There is no minimum donation -- please give as your family budget permits. Any donations are welcome. It will be so nice for the family to see this tribute to the this extraordinary woman whom we loved and lost too soon.
