Sharaz Sharif Alam for PHD

I am raising money to support the Rev. Sharaz Sharif Alam who is an ordained Presbyterian Minister serving in rural Pakistan. This is an area of the world where it is dangerous to be a Christian, but Sharaz is serving God's kingdom there by faith and with courage. He would like to further his education to grow in his service to the Church and to make a difference in his country, but he must go overseas to complete his education. He has been accepted to the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies but we must still raise some more funds to get him there. He writes the following:
"Rev. Sharaz Sharif Alam is my name. By profession, I am an ordained Presbyterian Minister in Pakistan and serving the church since last 6 years in various six rural congregations. I am married and Ihave four beautiful boys. My wife is the second woman ordained minister in the history of the Presbyterian Church of Pakistan. We have completed our degree of M.Div from Gujranwala Theological Seminary, Gujranwala in 2015. My keen desire to learn more about theology and grow in my understanding of the church and the servanthood, led me to apply for the degree of M.Th in Presbyterian University of South Korea which I successfully completed by 2017.
After the completion of M.Th, I returned back home to continue my ministry. All this time, God was on my side to provide me opportunities to learn and excel more in my knowledge and learning. Keeping in mind that in Pakistan, Pastors in rural areas are not paid their salaries. They and their families have to survive on whatever congregation gives to them as part of their tithes and Thanksgiving weekly, monthly or annually. They do not have any other source of income for their living. I am one of those pastors who is serving God, trusting Him to meet all the needs on time. Experiencing God's favor in my life, I urged myself to step ahead for a Ph.D programme in theology. For this purpose, I applied in OCMS and my application is accepted with a condition for enrollment. I have to send them proof of fundraising before 1stJanuary 2019 regarding the programme fee which is 6000£ annually. In my capacity, financially, I am unable to meet the criteria for paying fee dues.
PhD in theology is not available in Pakistan. The last degree they offer is just M.Div. Due to lack of resources and opportunities in Pakistan, I am unable to do further studies in my home country. If I will be able to meet the criteria and get admission in OCMS for PhD programme, I would be the second person in my denomination, The Presbyterian Church of Pakistan, to have the opportunity to complete a doctoral program.
I am requesting you to help me in continuing my theological journey. Your contribution will make my future in theological learning."
