My name is Andrew Abang. I’m 36 years old and I live in Gresham, Oregon, just outside of Portland. I work full-time at an awesome insurance billing agency called Acubiller and I’m committed to becoming debt-free.

My student debt with Navient (aka Sallie Mae) currently totals over $204,000.

For the last three years, I’ve worked with a debt collection agency called GC Services to settle more than a third of my debt - about $78k. I’ve only been able to afford interest-only payments, so I’m throwing away money every month with no progress towards the principal on my loans.

On October 20th, a rep at GC Services said they would cancel $78k worth of debt if I pay a lump sum of $2000 by October 30th and pay $336 a month for three years. I have just under a week.

I’ve set up this campaign to ask for donations toward this $2000 lump sum payment. All amounts earned toward the goal, whether shy of, meeting, or exceeding my $2000 goal, will be applied to my student debt.

Student debt is the greatest burden in my life. I want to make good on it. Just a little help would make it so much easier to get there. Thank you!
