Send the Rio Vista team to World Finals!

We are the Odyssey of the Mind team for Rio Vista Elementary in Tucson, Arizona. We are proud and honored that we made it to the World Finals this year! Rio Vista is a Title I school, so we need your help to make our dream a reality.

 

 

The competition is hosted by the Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.  The funds will be used for:

1. Air travel from Tucson to Des Moines, IA.
2. Lodging and food at the University dorm and dining hall.
3. Other basic expenses for ourselves and our chaperones (11 people total). 

 

We are a team of 6 kids competing in the Classics event, where we are honoring the life of computer pioneer Ada Lovelace with a musical performance about her accomplishments. Per the requirements of our competition, the six of us wrote the script and songs, made the costumes and created the set without any outside suggestions.

In the regional and state competitions, we scored 1st place and were awarded the prestigious Renatra Fusca prize for outstanding creativity. Our team also helped Rio Vista win the Angel Award by being the school to gather the most donations for the supply drive to provide basic necessities for victims of domestic violence. 

 

 

We are so excited to represent our school, state, and country in this challenging competition next month!
