Send Kelly to Reykjavik Talent Lab

Donation protected
UPDATE - if any further donations come through then that money will go towards getting ATTRITION in front of an audience and me in attendance at international festivals to talk to everyone about the film. Thank you  xxx
I'm a writer and director from Derbyshire and I've been selected to participate in the Reykjavik International Film Festival Talent Lab. This is a wonderful prestigious opportunity and I am trying to raise money so that I can attend the lab and not forfeit my place.
This festival is an amazing opportunity to network, train and meet with film producers and other film professionals as I make my way towards my first feature film as a writer and director. And they only take 40 filmmakers from around the world each year.
I genuinely didn't think I would be selected.....and I'm honoured that I have been - but the fees for the lab/accommodation/food/flights and so forth are really high.
The lab includes masterclasses, panels, workshops and activities and last year Darren Aronofsky was part of the festival, goodness knows who will be there this year, but with that level of talent I certainly want to attend.
I've been making movies for a long time but I've yet to break through into features. For a long time this was because I was a full time university lecturer and I gave back for 13 years in that career. But 2 years ago I decided to make a break for it, leave the job, and concentrate all my energy on making a film and creating a network.
In the last 2 years I have raised a big budget for a World War One film, a supernatural thriller set in the 1915 gas attacks and we shot ATTRITION earlier this year with some first class actors from the British film and television world.
ATTRITION is in postproduction and has been supported by Creative England/BFI and has a presale to France 3 Television in France and so will be broadcast in November 2018. That's quite an achievement.
On top of that I've been on the festival circuit with a Victorian period drama called FAMILY PORTRAIT and I've screened it in over 40 international film festivals and won 9 awards so far. And FAMILY PORTRAIT has been broadcast on France 3 Television twice.
And as well as making films I've been expanding my network, writing films and finding new writing partners to work with, developing projects as I move along, as well as pitching films and TV shows to the BBC and major production companies.
The hard work is beginning to pay off....I've been mentored by some brilliant filmmakers including Peter Strickland (Berberian Sound Studio) and James Kent (Testament of Youth), as well as having the amazing opportunity to shadow director Douglas MacKinnon on the Sherlock Christmas Special.
Attending something like the Reykjavik International Film Festival Talent Lab means pushing myself further, getting out there on the international stage and pitching my work and meeting producers and other film professionals that could really make a difference in my career.....but I literally only have enough money to live, pay my rent, my bills and feed myself. I am VERY careful with money, which allows me to survive whilst trying to start a directing career. And I've only just started to freelance and so visiting Iceland for the lab is an expense I can't afford.
The Talent Lab will provide accommodation, training and day meals, but at a cost. I also have to pay for my own flights, transfers and evening meals. The whole trip will cost around £1000.
I need help.  I'm even putting all my old clothes on eBay to try and raise cash and looking into Creative Skillset money, but the problem is that Reykjavik requires the first payment by 19th July and the last payment by August 1st. It's a very quick turnaround.
I hope you might be able to help!
