Send Alexia to Kenya!

I’m so excited to share with you the opportunity God has given me to spend two months working with World Vision in Kenya. World Vision is an International Christian organization that brings clean water, food security, education, healthcare and the love of Jesus to the poorest of the poor.

My whole life I’ve wanted to go on a mission trip and see for myself the amazing work God began through my great grandfather, Dr. Bob Pierce. Since I was a little girl my grandmother has told me incredible stories about the need she has seen, and the ways World Vision is making a difference. Now, at the age of twenty, I have the chance to see for myself, and more importantly, to discover how I can help change the world with the gifts God has given me.

When I received this invitation to go to Kenya and work as an intern in some of World Vision’s field programs, I just cried. I feel so blessed to have this amazing chance to learn and grow. But, as excited as I am to go, the big question is how do I get there? I have been invited to come from mid-August to mid-October which means I have only a month to raise the money needed. When my great grandfather felt called to go on his first mission trip to China, he only had enough money to get himself to Hawaii. He trusted God to miraculously provide the funds he needed to get him the rest of the way, and God did! Now I am trusting that He will provide the funds I need to cover my round-trip flight to Kenya and my nominal living expenses for the two months I'll be there by way of this GoFundMe Campaign.
