Hi, this is Lisa Waltenspiel with Community Market. I’m the marketing director and a board member of the Red Clover Worker’s Brigade. I’ve organized this fund drive on behalf of Community Market because I wholeheartedly believe in the market’s role as an alternative business model and a vital community resource.
Community Market has been privileged to serve Sonoma County for over 40 years. Our unique business structure provides a worker-run, not-for-profit model with a mission to provide local, organic and ethically sourced products and education about nutrition, environmental and sustainability issues. We collaborate with local nonprofits to support community well-being.
During the recent flooding in Sonoma County, our Sebastopol location sustained significant damage, beyond the scope of our financial resources. Please help support our efforts to re-open our doors, restore jobs for over 60 dedicated workers and return this important local resource to our valued Sebastopol community.
Funds will be deposited directly into Community Market’s business account for meeting the expenses of repairing damage sustained in the flood and for the cost of re-stocking our shelves.
Funds are specifically being used to replace equipment damaged by the flood waters, to pay vendors whose products were lost in the flood and to pay our workers for their dedicated efforts to get the store up and running. With your help, we expect to open our doors in the weeks ahead.
