SDSU Aztec Racing Formula SAE 2018-2019
Donación protegida
Mission:
This year, we are asking for your help in getting our new and improved 2019 race car built and the team out to Lincoln, NE. This year due to San Diego State’s budget restrictions our team was not able to receive the annual funding we use for the manufacturing of our cars. This money was critical for the materials, resources, and services needed to make a one-off, fully custom race car built completely by students. Despite the large obstacles placed in front of us this year we are still very committed to building a car to the best of our abilities. To achieve the goals that we have set for a new and innovative design we need your help to raise capital for the materials, resources and services needed to execute our plans to achieve our goals.
First of all, we would like to give a big thank you to everyone who supported us last year. Without your support, we would have not been able to place as well as we did.
Our Story:
Aztec Racing was founded in 1994, as a student-run organization at San Diego State University. With the purpose of promoting collegiate education through the design, manufacturing, and marketing of a small, open-wheel race car. The cars are built with a team effort in less than one year and are taken to the annual Formula SAE Lincoln event where 80 race cars from colleges and universities from around the world compete. Last year we took on a substantial challenge by changing upgrading many critical components such as the chassis, engine management, and suspension design. We gave it our best effort at the competition but were held back from completion by a few small oversights that were not revealed in prior testing. Moving forward from the problems in the past, we have a greater understanding of the competition and the various challenges that are thrown at us. This year we have the utmost confidence to bring a competition-ready car and team.
The Team:
Our team consists of over 50 outstanding members who are pursuing degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, Business and more. This organization gives many of our members' valuable team building and applicable hands-on experience, which is essential to breaking into today's workforce.
Your Impact:
We plan to use any donations we receive directly on the manufacturing costs for the build. This will include the materials needed for fabrication, components for suspension, electronics, and the engine rebuild. Without adequate funding, we will not be able to attend this competition and our members will not gain the amazing experience this organization provides. Each year our project provides the team with invaluable experiences not only with the technical side of the build but also the social challenges of working as a cohesive and collaborative team.
We appreciate every donation, we cannot make this year happen without your support.
*Note: If you have a decent sized trailer that you would be willing to donate to our team, or know someone who does, please send us an email. We need a trailer that can transport not only our car but the various tools we will need to have at the competition.
