Single Mom Faces Eviction This Week

Hi friends,

I have a single mom friend who has helped many people but today finds herself needing our help. She faces eviction in the next few days. 

Marshalls will be coming to lock her out of the home she has with her babies. No one in her family nor any one friend has the total sum she needs (which is large), but perhaps a group effort can work. She's been a good friend of mine for a decade, so I've set up this GoFundMe page. That way anyone interested in helping can pitch in.

She hasn't been able to work this summer because her eldest child was in the hospital. Thankfully her child is out now, and my friend is applying for every job opening she can find. Three companies have already emailed her saying she is on their short list. So soon things may be well again.

But today a New York City Judge didn't grant her more time to pay her owed rent. Instead, he allowed her landlord to have Marshalls evict her without mailed notice, so unless she comes up with back rent, it will be happening fast.

School starts next week, making it an especially awful time for the children to be uprooted. This being NYC, if they leave their neighborhood, they must leave their schools.

So, I ask you to help me raise the funds for her owed rent and the month of September so she can continue to have her home while she looks for a job. Any amount is so sincerely appreciated, you don't even know!
