Help Jeorge Agcaoili Overcome Heart Challenges

Hi, my name is Jesse Agcaoili, son of Jeorge Agcaoili

In February 2025, my dad was diagnosed with an enlarged heart. He was referred to Straub Medical Center in Oahu for further testing, but due to scheduling difficulties, it took some time to secure an appointment.

On March 21, 2025, Jeorge was admitted to Straub for an echocardiogram, cardiac catheterization (Cath Lab), and future evaluation. During this assessment, doctors discovered serious heart issues, including an aortic aneurysm and a malfunctioning heart valve. He was advised to undergo open-heart surgery, which was tentatively scheduled for April 1st, 2025.

However, on March 27th, 2025, a nurse called to inform Jeorge that the surgeon and cardiologist had reviewed his case in a meeting. Due to the weakness of Jeorge's heart, they concluded that he might not survive the open-heart surgery. As a result, the procedure was canceled.

Instead, Jeorge was referred to an interventional cardiologist for a less invasive procedure to replace the faulty valve. This new approach is designed to alleviate his shortness of breath and help strengthen his heart, eventually making him a better candidate for open-heart surgery to address the aneurysm in the future.

Treatment Plan A:

April 22, 2025 (Today)

Attempt a Transfemoral TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement) through the groin.

Plan B- Transcaval TAVR:

If Plan A fails, Plan B will be considered.

However, it requires specialized equipment that may take a few weeks to arrive. We are praying that Plan A is successful to avoid further delays or complications.

Once Jeorge recovers and his heart becomes stronger, doctors hope he sill be able to undergo the open-heart surgery to repair the aortic aneurysm.
