As many of you know I own and operate a luxury villa rental in the beautiful town of Sayulita, Nayarit where I also resided for many years.
While the COVID-19 pandemic has affected everybody throughout the world, it has hit our town of Sayulita especially hard.
It is fair to say that most Mexicans live week to week with very little if any savings in case of emergency.
The Mexican government has failed to pass any kind of legislation that gives any kind of financial or food support to it’s people.
Naturally, tourism has come to a complete halt, causing widespread financial devastation to the people of Sayulita.
The money from your donation will be used primarily for the following needs:
1. Food - I will be working with a local grocer to purchase large quantities of food that will be distributed to the local community.
2. Medicine - I have heard from several of my Mexican counterparts that essential medicines like insulin have not been dispersed by the normal local channels as the overburdened medical system is focused on the COVID-19 patients.
3. Special needs - I will dedicate 20% of the donations to go towards special needs that anyone in our community might have. Examples might be but are not limited too - children with special needs- medical supplies for elderly and disabled people etc; In short, needs that are typically forgotten during times of crisis.
