Saving The Gunk Haus

Today on June 7th 2020 around 10:02 pm The Gunk Haus experienced an catastrophic accident not only to their business but the place they call home. We as a community need to rally together and support one of our favorite local restaurants. Anything helps to get their business back up and running, thank you so much:) Many people are also asking my relationship to Dirk and Elizabeth so they feel safe donating and I am a neighbor, friend, and a loyal customer of theirs for a very long time.

Dear Gunk Haus Fire Fund Supporters, As I have said in the beginning of the fundraiser, I am Candace McCutcheon, a friend and neighbor of Dirk and Elizabeth Schalle’s. I started this fundraiser immediately following the accident in hopes that it would assist with covering anything that was not covered by insurance. Following insurance claim reviews, it has been determined that insurance will cover all repairs needed on the Gunk Haus. As many decisions, Dirk and Elizabeth have decided that there is only one more option of what to do with the money given by their supporters. They have decided it is right to donate the money to the fire departments that responded to the fire on June 7th.
