My name is Arturo Gonzalez. I am an activist in the San Diego community, and my work has grown far beyond raising awareness  I now spend my time actively protecting and supporting street vendors and vulnerable community members across Southern California. Street vendors are being picked up from their posts while they’re simply trying to work, feed their families, and survive. What’s happening in our communities is heartbreaking, unacceptable, and demands action. I’ve committed myself to showing up for them  whether that means pulling up to their locations, documenting what’s happening, checking on their safety, or driving across the county to respond when someone is in danger. In addition to helping vendors on the ground, I also conduct community patrols to keep an eye out for harassment, profiling, and unsafe situations. This work is 100% nonprofit and completely fueled by community support. To continue doing this, I need help covering: • Gas for daily patrols and emergency responses • Car maintenance so my vehicle stays safe and reliable • Support for street vendors who are being targeted or displaced • Travel across SoCal to assist vendors wherever they need me If you’d like to contribute, it would mean so much to me, to our community, and to everyone fighting back against what this administration is doing.
