Save the Historic Barn at Montrose Farms

Donation protected
Montrose Farms Alpaca Ranch used to be known as the James B. Brown farm. The town of Brownsburg is named after the first white settler in this area, who started this farm. Through 200 years, it has remained a small family farm. The current caretaker is a widow, struggling to maintain the property and preserve its heritage.

This barn was built in the early 19th century. It has been deteriorating and is now at a critical juncture. It is needed on the farm -- used every day for hay storage and more.

A contractor has been found who will save the barn and reuse as much of the original wood as possible in order to preserve its heritage and look. But this work does not come cheap and help is needed in order to put this barn back into good working condition.
